The situation
Sunflower Meadow Park is a local park in my neighborhood. As a rural area, it provides a gathering place for the community.
The summer before I built this site, I started hosting Drop In Park Play nights at the park. Hosting might be too strong of a word. I announced a time each week and spread the word that was the time to be at the park. Instead of showing up at the park and not having anyone to play with, we started meeting neighbors and making friends.
I didn’t have a good place to share updates and info about these events, so the idea for the website was born.
What I worked on
This site was designed as a One Page Website to give it a simple, solid start, with options to expand later.
I focused on a clean, calm design with fun, yet intentional, splashes of color that would let people quickly find the information they were looking for.

Project notes
The one page format was an excellent option for starting for this sort of project. The site is only a month or two old, and I already am in the process of expanding to more pages with content contributed by other neighbors. One thing I love about the One Page format is that it gives a great launching off point – and room to grow!
If you are interested in a website for your business or organization, I’m happy to chat about options. Schedule a time to talk.
