Support
Website support that keeps things running and keeps up with your business
Why website support matters
Websites are not set and forget tools. They need regular updates to stay secure and functional, and they also need to change as your business changes.
My support services are designed for people who want a reliable, ongoing relationship with someone who understands their website and can help keep it running smoothly over time. I work with one person businesses, small teams, and nonprofits, and I am thoughtful about scope and recommendations based on what will serve you best over the long term.
What website support actually means
- keeping your site updated and secure
- making changes as your business evolves
- having a real person you can reach out to when questions come up
- knowing your website is handled so it does not become a source of stress
Monthly website maintenance
For most clients, ongoing support starts with a monthly maintenance plan.
Monthly maintenance includes:
- regular backups
- plugin and theme updates
- basic uptime monitoring
- a set amount of support time each month for updates, fixes, and small changes
This plan is ideal if you want peace of mind and a predictable way to keep your site current without needing to think about it every week.
Support time can be used for things like:
- updating content or hours
- adding new pages or sections
- fixing small issues
- answering questions or walking through changes together
Hosting support
I also offer website hosting for clients who want everything handled in one place.
Hosting through me includes:
- managed hosting
- monitoring and uptime checks
- coordination between hosting and maintenance when issues arise
Many clients choose this option because it simplifies things. There is one point of contact, and problems do not get bounced between providers.
Hourly support and project work
Not every situation requires monthly support.
If you need help with a specific issue, update, or short term project, I also offer hourly support.
Hourly work is a good fit for:
- one time fixes or changes
- troubleshooting issues
- site cleanups
- help understanding or managing your site
If you are not sure whether monthly support or hourly help makes more sense, we can talk it through together.
How we figure out the right level of support
You do not need to know exactly what you need before reaching out.
I work with clients ranging from one person businesses to small teams and nonprofits. I am thoughtful about scope and recommendations, and I focus on support that makes sense for where you are now.
Some people come in knowing they want ongoing support. Others come with a single issue and realize they would benefit from regular maintenance. We usually figure this out together during an initial conversation.
My goal is to recommend what makes sense for your site and your situation.
My small business has been through a number of web managers over the years, and there has always been some sort of grit that caused me to change providers every year or so. Finally, I found Kyla (aka Website Tech Girl), and the experience has been top notch! Kyla is highly capable in her field, responsive to communication, and an insightful and proactive problem solver. My site is a better place because of her! If you are starting a new website, or need more help than you are getting with the other guys, go with Website Tech Girl!
